An exemplary enhancement of Montreal’s built heritage
The developer engaged professional assistance in urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture to lead the development of a redevelopment program for a strategically located site at the intersection of Pie-IX Boulevard and Pierre-de-Coubertin Avenue, benefiting from direct visibility from the entrance to Pie-IX metro station, as well as the municipal approval process. The proposed concept made it possible to restore a vacant plex by adding an extension that is both contemporary and understated, highlighting Montreal’s built heritage.
The interventions carried out notably enabled the addition of an extra storey, in harmony with the urban context and in keeping with the intent to enhance corner buildings across the City of Montreal. In total, 22 housing units were incorporated into this project, authorized under a PPCMOI application.
