Special Planning Program for the historic center of Pont-Rouge

APUR was mandated by the City of Pont-Rouge to assist in developing a special planning program aimed at enhancing and consolidating its historic downtown. The mandate’s objective was to guide development and redevelopment projects to ensure harmonious integration with existing built heritage assets. It enabled the structuring of a coherent vision for an area with diverse characteristics. The project also included the establishment of a revitalization program allowing the City to financially support the renovation of deteriorated or inadequately maintained buildings. A set of concrete actions was defined to ensure implementation of the Council’s vision. These actions included targeted regulatory amendments. Particular attention was given to the regulation of paved surfaces. Respect for the historic alignment of the built environment was also integrated as a structuring principle of the special planning program. APUR also assisted the City in drafting the revitalization program and regulatory parameters for granting financial assistance.
