Urban Planning
Project
Revision of the urban plan and regulations and special urban plan for the City of Notre-Dame-des-Prairies

of redeveloped land
of planned park space
A tailored regulatory framework that activates the city center, strengthens its identity, and sustainably reconnects the urban center to its river.
This mandate, carried out to adapt regulatory tools to the SADR of the MRC de Joliette, took into account the territorial characteristics specific to the City and was based on detailed planning exercises. These targeted the Boulevard Antonio-Barrette sector, Rue Gauthier Nord, as well as the cultural and institutional hub, integrated into a PPU covering the central sector. The mandate led to the development of normative and discretionary regulatory tools aimed at guiding urban development in a coherent manner. These tools were specifically designed to stimulate commercial activity along the main arteries. Particular attention was paid to the harmonious integration of new proposals into the existing built environment. The project also aimed to support the City’s desire to consolidate its institutional and community hub. Finally, alignment with a future riverfront park made it possible to enhance the banks of the L’Assomption River as a structuring element of the territory.
