Revision of the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu’s urban plan and bylaws

Envisioning Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu 2050: an ambitious, collaborative, and action-oriented territorial vision.
The development of the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu’s urban plan includes four main stages: the public participation process, the definition of a long-term vision (2050 horizon), the preparation of a territorial profile and diagnosis, and the development of an action plan. The latter involves developing a spatial organization concept, as well as planning directions and strategies inspired, among other things, by the new government planning directions (OGAT). Lastly, an analysis of projected housing needs was also carried out using georeferenced data, and priority sectors were defined on the basis of this analysis to guide development. The project also includes drafting the City’s urban planning by-laws to ensure they are consistent with the directions and objectives set out in the urban plan.
