Development of a Housing Study for the MRC of La Rivière-du-Nord

In a context marked by the adoption of new government policy directions for land-use planning (OGAT) and the ongoing revision of the land-use and development plan (SAD), the team was mandated by the La Rivière-du-Nord RCM to develop a housing study. The study aimed to establish a diagnosis of the current situation and the housing needs to be anticipated across the RCM’s entire territory, and to propose potential interventions to promote alignment between the housing supply and current and projected needs. The development of the study took into account the requirements arising from the new OGAT, which aimed in particular to plan living environments that ensure access to quality, accessible, and affordable housing for all households, in coherence with the SAD revision work.
