A pivotal, award-winning project to revitalize the city center.
As part of a call for proposals launched by the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, a renowned developer submitted a detailed residential development concept for a strategic downtown site within a few weeks. The mandate notably involved determining an optimal development scenario, in compliance with the requirements and evaluation criteria established by the City, to allow for the analysis of proposals by a committee formed for this purpose and the selection of the project to be implemented.
The submitted project, comprising 245 residential units organized around a green island, was selected as the winner by the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu from among five proposals at the end of the selection process. The proposed concept stands out for its resolutely green approach, particularly through the integration of rain gardens, and its human scale, as well as a carefully considered integration in continuity with the existing urban context. The entire development is consistent with the renewed vision adopted by the city council as part of the revision of the downtown PPU (Urban Planning Program).
