A space where the community gathers, breathes, and celebrates every moment in the heart of Deux-Montagnes.

From the very first stages, the project was developed through an integrated design process, bringing together biologists, civil engineers, structural engineers, and specialists in geotechnics and hydrogeology to ensure a coherent and sustainable approach that takes into account the site’s environmental, technical, and landscape constraints.

A signature public square and green space were then developed to mark the City of Deux‑Montagnes’ centennial, with the aim of restoring residents’ access to the lake shoreline. This structuring project is part of the Green and Blue Network of the Montréal Metropolitan Community (CMM), helping to connect natural, recreational, and landscape spaces at the metropolitan scale. The project includes 3D modelling to facilitate the presentation and understanding of the proposed developments, as well as a detailed budget planning exercise. The work included the preparation of plans and specifications, as well as construction supervision.

The intervention aimed to strengthen residents’ sense of belonging, enhance the lake shoreline, and create a high-quality space for relaxation, activities, and recreation, ensuring continuity between the village core and the water body. The proposed developments encourage water-based activities, social interaction, and gatherings, while maximizing the presence of green and natural spaces. The project also incorporates solutions aimed at limiting the effects of urban heat islands. Thanks to an integrated and innovative approach, the public square stands out as a true, accessible, and welcoming gathering place for everyone.
