Revision of the City of Shawinigan’s Urban Plan and Bylaws

The City of Shawinigan has undertaken a comprehensive revision of its urban plan and regulations. This initiative aims to ensure the integration of the content from the land use and development plan, as well as the harmonization of regulations from the former municipalities that make up the territory of the City of Shawinigan following the municipal merger.

The development of the urban plan also aimed to create various planning units. The plan includes the analysis of 17 areas playing a key role in structuring the territory, the development of a diagnosis for each of these areas, as well as the definition of a development concept identifying the key interventions to prioritize for the development of these units.

The project finally includes the drafting of the City’s urban regulations to ensure their consistency with the orientations and objectives set out in the urban plan.
