What We Offer
The Urban Planning Project Manager is responsible for managing projects on behalf of public clients (primarily municipalities and regional county municipalities).
The ideal candidate profile focuses on municipal project management, more specifically on land use planning and regulatory drafting. A Project Manager at APUR participates in all stages of the execution and management of assigned projects. Mandates can take various forms: the development of urban plans, special urban plans, specific studies, the definition of land use and development solutions, the creation of innovative regulatory solutions, etc. The tasks associated with the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Project management: workload distribution, budget monitoring,
quality control, etc. - Development and drafting of planning documents (urban plans,
special urban plans, master plans, etc.) - Regulatory drafting (amendments, revisions, etc.)
- Drafting of reports and studies and preparation of presentation documents
- Preparation, participation, and facilitation of public consultation
activities - Drafting and assistance in preparing service proposals
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will stand out for their leadership and ability to manage projects from start to finish! Beyond project management, the selected individual will be called upon to conceptualize and produce certain creative tasks (e.g., spatial organization concepts, innovative regulatory solutions, etc.). The firm is therefore looking for a person with the following knowledge and skills:
- Possess 7 years or more of experience in municipal and/or regulatory urban planning.
- Membership in the Ordre des urbanistes is an asset.
- Leadership, high autonomy, and initiative in assigned mandates.
- Ability to work in a team using a collaborative approach.
- Ability to find solutions efficiently and diligently, and to coordinate their implementation.
- Excellent command of written and spoken French and ease in regulatory
drafting. - Proficiency in software: Adobe suite, Office suite.
- Comfort communicating verbally and in writing in a context of
direct communication with clients, management, collaborators, and
the public. - Excellent knowledge of urban planning legislative framework and regulatory
and implementation tools (LAU, LPTAA, LQE, etc.). - Comfort presenting before an audience.
- Flexibility in working hours based on projects.
- Proficiency in communication and graphic aspects.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in urban planning
or a related field.
